It's soooo small, you have to step outside of it just to change your mind. Ba dum bum tsssssss.

Here's one of my buddy cutting out the old crapper pipe.

All was going well. We had the new commode line connected to the main line to the septic, but when we cut the hole for toilet flange ..... an 8" heating duct peaked up through the hole and said, "Na, Bubba, na." "Oh yeah?" we said, and cut the duct, replacing it with 8" flex duct and jogging the toilet line around it. Pic attached.

Here's a pic of both holes in the floor we had to cut out. It gives you a pretty good idea of the new toilet location and size of the new master.

The new vanity drain and vent running into the attic. It also shows how far to the left in the picture the new bathroom will go compared to where the old wall was at the upper right of the pic.

"Why cut out all those holes in the floor when you could have just redone the plumbing from the basement?" you ask? Because stupid me had to finish the basement FIRST and that's where the basement bathroom is.

Oops. Almost forgot. My wife loves the fact that we have a commode sitting in our dining room. Especially when we had company this weekend.

Looks to me that you are lucky that you had PVC (or similar) to cut into. I want to redo my toilet room, but it will mean tying into the old cast iron lines. I'd like to get the courage to tie into that job, and am getting a little bit of inspiration from your pics. Thanks (a lot, I think /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif).

Do you like the shower stall verses tub and shower. We are redoing our bath, same size as yours, and this is the one thing we are wondering about.


No kids, never really use tub, but resale is one thing we think of.

Sounds like the bathroom at our old house. It was so small, there was enough room for a conventional door to swing open. We had a bi-fold closet door.

When the house was built, there wasn't a bathroom in it, but a 6 foot by 8 foot addition was built off the kitchen at some point in the house's history. We had to close the bi-fold bathroom door in order to open the oven door! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
