My bathroom is so small ......

My grandfather called small bathrooms like this one, "a drive in, backout bathroom". or a backin, drive out, I suppose....

Danny, the shower is the only thing we're not replacing\moving. It's large for a shower, and has two places to sit down (you know -- for when you get tired in the middle of your shower). It measures roughly 3' by 5'.

thanks

How's the project coming along? Been a few weeks with no updates. Hope all is going well. Gerard

Thanks for the interest, Gerard, and my apologies for such a late response. You know how it is with the holidays and all.

Not much progress to report, but here's a pic of the framing with the throne in its approximate new location. I had to move it out of the dining room for Christmas, since we were having company on the 24th and 25th. Anyway, I put it here to make sure I had enough "elbow room." It's all good!

Note the pocket door frame. It was surprisingly easy to install, but I still have a question for those of you with pocket door installation experience. Can I still install the door after the drywall is up, or do I need to do it now?

Do it now in case there are any clearance problems. It will be easier to adjust, trim, or whatever. In case you need to install a stop so the door does not go too far into the pocket now is the time to do that.

Be sure to allow plenty of clearance at the bottom of the door for ventilation. I like to have at least 3/4" clearance below any door. With any less clearance if you have central heat and A/C no air will circulate in the room when the door is closed.

Obvious but often overlooked point: Be careful when installing the drywall and remember not to use long nails that will penetrate the horizontal pieces on the door pocket.
