Nice work! Thanks for sharing. What projects do you have in store for your blade? Will you use it for snow removal?

Nice job Brad, and a very nice series of photos showing how you did it.

Greatly enjoyed the thread! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Now, how many rear hydraulic outlets do I want ....

I would think you would need at least two. I am in the process of putting rear remotes on my tractor and settled on four...the "want factor" winning out over the "need factor" in my case... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Great project Brad! A real inspiration. I appreciate the clear, concise photo spread. Congratulations!

One question though. That blade looks really tall. Is it just for snow? Reason I ask is that a blade that tall will get a lot of leverage on the frame if grading tough soil.

Hi Brad,

I just have one concern. I couldn't see a spec of dust on the floor through out your presentation. Only saw a welding cable on the floor in two pictures. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I havn't figured out how to do that yet.

Seriously, that looks like one fine piece of work and is something you can use the rest of your life.

The best part is, each time you use it, you will reflect back to the building process. I don't know your age, but for some these memories may last 50 years.

Now on the the next project,
Happy building

'Course not! That's what TBN is all about!

Ok, next job... Build a snowblower for the front
Don't need one - I've got a rear blade /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Looks like you could make a rake attachment for it also, ...
I bought a landscape rake with the tractor, it's what I copied for the top-link attachment part.

What projects do you have in store for your blade?
Primarily snow removal, and maybe a bit of light landscaping.

I am in the process of putting rear remotes on my tractor and settled on four...
Yup, I'll probably add 4 in the back as well, and at least one to the front of the loader for a grapple in the future.

That blade looks really tall. Is it just for snow? ...
It's about 15" tall. It is mostly for snow but I think it'll hold up to some dirt work as well.

I couldn't see a spec of dust on the floor ...
That's because I cleaned up a bit for the pictures. You should see how it really gets sometimes! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

36. At work, I'm one of the "old guys" /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

YIKES! I wouldn't want my properly colored tractor to get contaminated!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Gosh, that's really superb. Pro quality and a nice design. Even the paint job is pretty. Thanks for the inside view of your design process and the photo essay. Your extra work to present it to us is appreciated.

I'm a believer in eyeballing things where it makes sense. I don't mean standing back and going "hmm... good enough", but rather pick a reference point or edge and line something up with it by sight.

What a fine job! I have always believed the human eye to be the finest precision instrument there is. Your comments are well put.
What fun to design, layout and build things.

Very nice. John Deere and others should take notes.
