I have one of those regulators from USA welds, also. It seems to work well, and the price was certainly right. I will continue to open the tank valves slowly. It was the way I was taught and I see no benefit to cranking them open rapidly.

Same here. Plus I don't like having that ball hit the top, it looks like it would crack the plastic gauge without a whole lot of pressure.

Regulator seems to work ok, finished both my canopies with it after it came in. Price was much better than the $128 that airgas wanted for one.

My system holds pressure, to the point where days later, if I open the valve quickly, the ball does not jump at all. This means I did not have to close the valve, it's airtight! But I close it anyway. It tells me there is no oxygen in the system and I do like that, can pretty much just start welding, every time, without bothering to do a test weld.
