My cat retired!

Definitely. The last few years of his life he was petted daily while lounging. Also let him inside anytime he wanted. Such a nice cat. Just thought it was funny picturing him on a Lazy Boy with a beer and a remote watching TV during his senior years. He had a great life living on a farm. 15 years is an EXCELLENT lifespan for a cat. I miss him so much. I've lived alone with him for the duration of his life so I'm a real mess right now. So much so, I think I literally need a therapist.

Hang in there my friend. A buddy of mine has several older animals and goes to pieces every time one passes on. He had to lay out of work when one of his cats died. I suggested prozac.

I'm glad your cat made it to retirement. My cat was killed by a bunch of raccoons. Said raccoons have been exterminated.

We had a bunch of kittens in a barn where we kept our horses. One very cold January night, we all decided to take a cat home so they wouldn't freeze. Our big tabby was ever fully domesticated and was best left outside as much as possible. He lived to be 18. When he died, all the neighbors complained that moles had taken over their yards. Easy conclusion from that, he was on the hunt all those years and when gone was sorely missed by all concerned.
