My first problem waswith Case Construction. I went to look up a part for a 580 CK backhoe for afriend. When I put 580 in the model number search, I got 382 hits, instead of the usual list of the 580 models to select from. I did senda letter to whomever is in charge of running the website, and they did get it somewhat straightened out.
My second problem was when I was looking up parts for my 140. Apparently, parts they don't carry for the older models, were stricken from the parts lists. The elxplodedviewof said parts, and corresponding number (not part number) that was in the parts list, was stricken from the list. At least if you had the part number, you could look for parts, such as castings, using a search engine would get results from salvage yards. Same with even other smaller parts, gears are a good example, also the part number for the front wheel weights for my 140. Pictures, but no part number. They started several years back eiminating the, what I would call the classic models. Straight A's B's & C models. There are difference's in parts for them, and their engines.
I resorted to getting a hard copy reprint off ebay for my140. Print/photo copy quality is so so, with part numbers being having smudged like quality.
One of thefellows from aFB IH page said Case/IH is getting lots of complaints, and word is, they are working on bringing back, at least complete part number listings. From the looks of things on those FB pages, collecting is making a comeback, and guys are looking for parts. In the meanwhile, I'll be looking for OEM hard copies, for quality purposes of tractors I have, and tuck away in the filing cabinet.
I'm sure a lot of it has to do with cost, maintaining that large volume of parts listings.
