Re: My dealers opinion...what\'s yours?

It is the pecking order.... depending on when you registered depends on what you are called. Don't worry about what the site calls you, because most don't look at that as much as what you post. Numbers are decieving..... high number mean nothing more than busy fingers...... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: My dealers opinion...what\'s yours?

The one big difference I’ve found in specs is the 7510 shows using 48-60” RFM where 7610 shows 60-72”. Tells me that extra HP does make a difference.

They are pushing 7510’s more so that tells me they are over stocked or are making more money off them. I see prices coming down on 7510’s so that probably answers the question. The price difference is compounded because they are also pushing the more expensive ground contact mower with the 7610, about $1000. more just for the deck from what I can tell.

To me, the ability to drive a larger rear deck if I decide to or try to add AC in the future, the extra HP would be needed. When new almost all machines are designed to perform well and no doubt they wouldn’t put a 60” deck on a 7510 if it didn’t work well, but....if you’re like me and keep a machine 20 or more years, what will the performance of the engine be then? Obviously if it loses a bit of power over time, the extra now will be a cushion for later. Shouldn’t be a drastic drop off, but I would expect some with hours. As far as loader performance......I suspect Kubota loaders are designed by the legal and sales departments. The Koyker brand loaders appear to rise significantly higher than OEM Kubota. Obviously this will likely drop the weight capacity and increase the chances of tipping both of which OEM’s are probably afraid of. To me the ability to push a log to the top of a pile, or carry a 6’ gate with the loader without it dragging on the ground, or to be able to stand in the bucket high enough to climb on the roof....all reasons for a higher lift loader. Appears the hydro pumps put out the same between the two machines so this should not be the limiting factor. The ¼ inching valve does appear to limit output according to Kubota’s spec sheets.

Two questions I’ve yet seen answered:

1 - Will a suspended “Turf Special” deck fit a B7610?
This obviously would bring the two prices closer together, perhaps something dealers don’t want. The 7510-7610 share the 54” suspended deck RCK54-75B, so I see no reason a RCK60B75B wouldn’t fit either machine? Are the transmissions different not allowing the height adjustment to bolt up?

2 – Will the position control valve bolt right up to the 7610 and if so what is the cost?
I believe it should be as simple as bolting it on considering the B7510DTN (narrow tractor) has position control.

If you ask a salesman they’ll say it can’t be done, but most of them only know part numbers, if it isn’t in a book listed, to them it won’t work. The way I see it, if the suspended 60” deck and position control both fit the 7610, then you have a great machine that is more affordable and don’t need a B2410.

Re: My dealers opinion...what\'s yours?

I bought my 7610 from MB also and they were helpful in my decison making showing the +/- for going with either model. I elected to go with the larger FEL. Skidmark, what town are you in, I'm in Lynnfield?

Perhaps none of the dealers or Kubota people know the answers to these questions, what a surprise. They certainly are good at showing up here when someone is looking for a certain model they happen to have in stock however.

Perhaps I can answer one of them for you so perhaps when a customer asks in the future you all might have an answer other than “can’t do it”. That answer reminds me of when Gomer or Goober Pile was asked directions by a motorist and he tried to figure it out, scratching his head.... then replied “you can’t get there from here”.

I’ve read here Turf Special’s cannot move the tread width out due to tires hitting the rear anti scalp wheels. A look at the rear tread width on a B7610 shows it approximately 3 inches wider than that of a Turf Special, 46” vs. 43”. Surprising they also show the Turf Special with a one inch wider tire yet three inch narrower tread width. Without hands on experience, this may be the reason. Nothing a torch or cutter couldn’t take care of, bet that’s not in the book either. If there are other fit problems I have no idea.

Re: My dealers opinion...what\'s yours?

I would buy the 7610. I wanted one but only a 7510 was available. You can never have too much HP.

Steve
