My Dirty little Beaver......

. Seems the old lady next door is bent. She thinks I'm going to flood her out. Lol. The engineer just laughed when I explained what I was doing and how I was going about it. He asked if I made any enemies with my neighbors... I said no, I talk to the two across the road on a regular basis and I mowed the old hags entire 3 acres all last summer because her son took her old Kubota and broke it... I didn't even get a thank you, a warm apple pie or even an introduction. I went out one 90 degree day in July when she was push mowing her ditch. I felt bad, went over and introduced myself and proceeded to mow her lawn because I felt bad for her. Got a thank you that day... And that was it

So now I'm trying to get rid of my standing water (her yard is worse than mine) and she won't even come over and ask what I'm doing but calls the county engineer? Wtf.

:laughing::laughing: Well.....+1 for you on being neighborly!

It appears we're (kinda) neighbors.....I'm just south of Canton.

Your doing a nice job on the makeover. Don't be too bitter about the neighbor, she may not be the one who called. Don't mow her lawn for awhile and see when see calls to ask why not

Steve,

Some people, especially when alone and dependent such as this lady appears to be, are nervous. You know you did the right thing in helping her so that is what counts in my book!

Great job on your yard, and thanks for the pictures so I could follow your logic.

Good day,

Jim

Yeah, I always try to nice. Usually gets me burnt though...

I'm still not done by anymeans. I need to finish my loader so I can get a couple triaxle loads of topsoil dropped off. Then once it's somewhat graded I'll cut some trenches for the drain pipe. Since I like to build things, how well do you guys think my home made potato plow/sub soiled will work?

When I bought the box blade it was missing the center ripper (mine only has three total). So I went to tsc and bought one they had. It was two inches longer, but the adjustment holes are very close.

Anyways, I got to thinking. Instead of buying a subsoiler why not make one? I had extra material around so.... I made an adapter for my trailer hitch/Reese hitch that I made... I drilled and tapped two holes in the tip of the ripper and bolted a small plow blade that I got at tsc for 6 or 7 bucks.
I haven't tried out the plow yet, but I did use the riper by itself and it works awesome! I might have to make some modifications to the plow because the angle of it when bolted to the ripper might be too far forward... Idk yet.

I took a piece of 2" box tube and used a porta band to cut out a slot for the ripper to fit.

Then I capped it with some 3/8" thick angle and added a forward and reverse stop on it. Then I drilled and tapped the tip and bolted the plow blade on

Like I said, I might have to make some angle changes as my top link is shortened all the way in this pic and might make initial ground engagement difficult

I also picked up this 4' disc the other day for 150 bucks. Hopefully it will break up the bigger chunks and I can get a nicely finished yard when it's all said and done!

the disc didn't work as well as planned, so I took my ratchet rake and strapped it on my box blade. Within an hour or so, it made a heckuva difference! almost ready for some grass seed!

Pays to shop around, those are great deals you're getting on implements. Nice job on the property, it's amazing what you can do with a tractor, a little patience and the right tools.
