My drill bits cause cancer?

What about the stickers

Are they made of green, sustainable, non cancer causing materials? Or do the proposition 65 stickers need stickers?

I bought a metal "Private Property" sign this morning to hang on the gate at the end of my driveway. I noticed it has the Prop 65 warning on the bottom so I guess I'll not be licking it before I put it up...........

You are in Nevada. It only causes cancer in California. It is safe to lick.

How does that work if you use the drill bits to mount fog lamps, then take the car on a road trip to California? It seems like all of those cancer molecules might be just waiting for that opportunity.

They are now saying you have to LIST the chemicals that may cause harm. They are trying to stop manufacturers from just putting the label on any and everything just to comply.

Prop 65 stickers in CA seem to me to be like one of those things that simply gets ignored due to over saturation by excessive warnings.

We all should be warned about things that cause cancer, but not if the risk is next to zero.

Marketing - Is there anything in this that could cause cancer?

Engineering - I have no idea, I'm an engineer not a doctor. I guess we could have someone look it up and get back to you in a week or two.

Marketing - Nevermind, we'll just put the Prop 65 stuff on it just in case.

Read into it and you can see the next thing being thought of is to provide the warnings in different languages. It's almost not worth it to sell things in California.

California propositions come from the people (special interest groups). A bunch of signatures and it gets put on the ballet. Then lots of money for scare tactics ads. Spook the sheeple to vote and you get prop 65 cancer warning stickers on everything.

Other places where the bureaucrats and scientists actually know reality make the regulations you get less of this sky is falling labels.

Pretty sure the HF drill bits I bought were made from peanuts. WHY did I NOT see the warning?

Don't worry about it, it only causes cancer in California. But, when in California....don't touch or eat anything, it's one big cancer ball!

Some of you may want to try this. It is hilarious. Several years ago my motorcycle riding buddy & I went to Costco. He found me in one of the isles and showed me some product with the "know to be cancer causing" CA sticker. It was peal off sticker. Sooooo..... he wanted me to help him. Went back to where the product was and pealed off half a dozen stickers.

Took these stickers over to where all the toilet paper was located. Pasted these stickers in conspicuous spots on the bulk TP packages.

Wasn't long until an eagle eyed lady spotted one of the stickers. Big conflagration ensued between the lady and a Costco employee & manager.

Thank goodness we were one isle over - I laughed so hard and I almost peed myself.

Were they made from peanut butter? Some tools do seem to have about the same hardness as peanut butter

I always wonder when my jar of peanuts has a warning that they were processed in the same factory which processes nuts. Where else would you expect them to be processed?

Did you ever see the Stephen King movie "Needful Things"? Some of those harmless little pranks had some very bad consequences. Just saying.

I guess the sticker might influence a purchase decision for someone that lives in fear all their life. The stickers are not confined to California. I had seen where some manufacturers were putting them on every product from the factory as they never know where the product might be shipped to and sold. My neighbor just bought a Kubota 1140 from our local dealer. It has a Prop 65 label prominently displayed on the dash.

Probably because peanuts are a legume whereas nuts are a fruit.
