Sorry Bird. i was being sarcastic. I meant that by introducing the topic of alternative fuels/additives, it's likely the discussion will veer away from the original posted topic. That's what I understand "whack" to mean when used in a forum.

It wasn't meant to be a comment pro or con alt fuels, or to imply that moderators would somehow get involved. But folks do have strong opinions about them. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

7. Don't run out of fuel.

If you run out, tools are usually required to get the motor started again. It's not just a matter of dumping more in the tank. Maybe you already knew this, but it's a common newbie mistake.

I don't know about John Deere, but my Kubota has a knob in the fuel line... there is a procedure used whenever air has been introduced into the line, either by running out of fuel or changing the fuel filter, open the knob by hand, start tractor, let it run for 1 minute, close knob with tractor still running.... all is well.
