Well my RK55 only has 21hrs on it. Used it quite a bit this winter to push snow. Everything worked great, now I have a hydraulic leak. Looks like it leaking between the tranny , and the mid transmission case? Guess we shall see where this goes from here. Contacted my local store where I bought it.

Anyone else so lucky?

Do the powder test on it to see if leak is something higher up and running down. I've had things that looked like it was a worst case scenario and turns out to be something simple. Dust along the spilt to see were the full starts and when parked, place cardboard or similar to see how much is leaking. Good luck. Have fingers crossed for you!

I was under the tractor today and checked out the leak. It left quite a spot on the garage floor. Honestly its not leaking a lot now, but I doubt it will stop the more I use the unit. My guess is its the output shaft seal on the hydro unit, which blots to the mid trans section. Theres a small hole where the two join, and it coming out of that. I got stuck in the snow last week, and really had to floor it to get out.

To me so far it looks like the hydro unit output is leaking.

Did you get the problem resolved?

So the on site techs from the local store where I bought it at came out to look at it. They determined it was more of a repair than they could handle at their store. They referred me to the the zone repair specialist, kind of a traveling road tech. They are thinking the hydro unit has a bad seal, and that is where it is leaking from. The tractor will have to be split to access this area. I was told three weeks plus ago they would be in touch to set up a time to get this hauled to a repair facility to be repaired. So far the key thing is that I am told they will call, or be in touch. And then nothing. So no nothing has been done yet.

Sengli,
Really hate to hear that. I've had more than my share of problems with the RK 37. Four different issues since around this time last year. I've come to expect a minimum of 3 months wait for any parts or service. I don't remember exactly but July or August last summer one of the controls broke on my backhoe. I'm still waiting for that part. My most current issue was about 2 weeks ago. The cable running from the loader joystick down to the valve broke. We run a small farm business so the tractor is pretty important to me. After this last breakdown I went out and bought a new tractor. Once all of my parts eventually come in for the RK, it's going to be sold.

I had the exact same thing and it was the hydro shaft seal. Bummer.

How much will you be asking for it? and what comes with it?

Well just got my tractor back. As it turned out the leak was an input connection to the hydro unit, which could be tightened from the outside of the mid transmission housing. When it leaked it dripped inside of that casting, so it looked like it was coming from the inside. So they did not have to split my tractor. I havent got use it yet, so hopefully it is fixed.

Nope it is not fixed, still leaks. The RK service guy ran it and let it heat up, but I dont think they drove it around much if at all. It wasnt leaking when they dropped it off from the service visit. Just mowed 5 acres of ground today, and the leak is back, same exact scenario as before.
