Each of the two keyways (one on each side of the seat) points toward the back, I believe. So, my impression is that after cutting into the vinyl side panels at the appropriate spots, one orients each arm rest so that it is pointing toward the rear of the tractor, and inserts it into the newly created hole, pushing it as far into the seat as possible. One then rotates the arm rest 90ー counterclockwise if one wants the arm rest to be vertical (out of the way when getting in or out of the tractor, or 180ー counterclockwise if one wants the arm rest to be horizontal (for use).

You put much better than I seems it looks like a Patent...:D

Which seat do you have? I do have the better seat.

How much do those run?

Hi, Murph.

I have the standard ("deluxe") seat... not the suspension seat.

The arm rests for the suspension seat are Ventrac Part No. 47.0325. I believe that the list price is $105.00, not including shipping.

Best,

John

Hi, Murph.

Scott Rehm of Ventrac provided me via email with the instructions in the form of a PDF file.

Now we are all set. I installed them after today's brooming session. Scott called me just as I was idling the tractor, letting it cool down after the work session. The procedure was pretty much as I had figured it would be before I received the instructions, but it was comforting to have them at hand as I held the scalpel, that is, X-acto knife.

Best,

John

More Snow!

We got another 3 to 4 inches of snow overnight. Light, powdery stuff. Broomhilda handled it superbly. I did the long, narrow part of the driveway, as well as our elderly neighbor's driveway, and my son got some seat time clearing the outer portions of the S-curved hill, and most of the wide portion of the driveway up near the house.

We are supposed to get another inch tomorrow, and possible 5 to 8 inches on Saturday. John Z. might finally get a chance to show his stuff!

Does that snow blow back on you at all?

Does that snow blow back on you at all?

It depends on the direction and strength of the wind, Murph. ;-)

I was out Saturday night in near white-out conditions, with the temperature in single digits and gusts up to 60 mph. I ate a fair amount of snow that night, and my lit pipe went out.

The winds were less energetic this morning, but I ate a little bit of snow, and the snow that got airborne and blown back at me was enough to again make my lit pipe go out.

Best,

John
