So....today I loaded up my JD790 and took it to the local Co-op for fluid in the tires. I previously had them order tubes for my tires, as they are pretty small. Now, this is a pretty sizable Co-Op with many employees a big tire shop, and allot of on-farm tire service, etc. But, they had a devil of a time putting fluid in those tubes. Ended up cutting one tube out as it would not fill and then cut the OEM (firestone) valve stems out and glued in replacement stems....which then readily took the fluid (cal chloride).
I had expected to be out of there in an hour.
...but, this project took over 6 man hours to complete.
(3 guys worked on it at times). They charged me $111. including the tubes, so I cant complain about the price......but I never understood why those valve stems wouldn't take fluid.....and never got a good explanation. Anybody know?
OH...and they gave me a pair of work gloves and a Firestone cap, cause I had to wait. (grin)
