There should be a cotter pin holding the tie rod end to the knuckle, you will need to torque the nut farther to reinstall the cotter pin, if you put a piece of metal in there(be sure to put the cotter pin back in).
But I'll be surprised if you actually have the clearance to mount the lights there. Turn the wheels hard right, then hard left to check clearances before installation.
