My solution to wanting a tiny skid steer was to buy a 40 yr old orphan (erickson 2548 aka ford cl20) with a worn out engine that basically needs a repower because you can BARELY even gaskets for the Onan NHC..

So basically your idea was better! I do have a 750cc Kubota 3cyl diesel I was planning to try in it, but i also have a 50hp brushless dc motor, controller, and associated bits from an electric car i parted out long ago. I guess if i were to get ambitious i could build myself an electric skid steer too.. Hmm..
