So annoyed right now....Been watching weather radar all day. It clears up so I get dressed and head out door, start working on wood pile then it starts to rain again. Wait for it to pass and watch radar again, all clear, get dressed again and head out and start to work on driveway, down comes the rain again. Repeat these steps two more times and finally now I'm saying screw it! My wife said God is telling me I need to rest and recover from last few days of working on the property. So I'm going to finally listen and stay in for the night, until snow comes then back out plowing driveway so she can leave for work in the morning.

Warming weather is a curse, it means ground thaws (Mud) and rain with a side of more rain....ugh

This is my first St Bernard, we love here. Our next dog will be a Cane Corso, waiting for the kids to get a bit older before we get a 150 bully breed dog.
Cool pics, beautiful dog. Be careful with the Cane Corso's... This past summer, two of them left their yard and killed a jogger on the street. Happened just a few miles away from me in Metamora Mich.

Don't want to get to side tracked on this thread, but......

I don't nor will I ever buy into the "breed" scare that people just keep pushing. Yes there are some breeds that are harder to deal with and others that are easy. But 99% of the time it is the owners that are the problem, Period!

I have dealt with some really mean beagles and nasty poodles, yet no one says "Watch out for them". Why? I just don't get it. When people own dogs and let them become azzholes it's NOT the dogs fault. It is the owners fault no if and's or butts about it.

It's funny, I have only met a couple Pitbulls that I didn't like or at least didn't like me. I have met only a couple Rotties, German Shepards, Aikitas, Chow-Chows that were actually mean. Now I have met countless mixed Labs and Jack Russells and other breeds that I was glad I had a pistol on and a long stick to smack that crap out of them with.

While Dalmatian actually have the highest bite rate of any breed, granted they don't maul people but could if provoked.

It just drive me up the wall when I hear people say "Watch out for this Breed or that Breed". It's not the breed its the owners. Look at what service dogs were used in the 1930-1950's.......guess what, it was a Pitbull! Yea, they was used for search and rescue and even at child care places as watch dogs, imagine that.

Rant over

I agree, we are dog lovers, have had Pits... And I agree, any dog breed can have an attack. However, I can fend off a Beagle, a Poodle, and most Pits. But fending off a 150 lb dog that flips it's lid and for whatever reason decides it wants to maul me? Not sure I'll win that one.

That's all...

Very true, size does matter.

I was actually thinking about living in wolf country the other day when I seen my St Bernard paw prints. She's 130-135#'s, wolves can get close to 150#'s. I can only imagine fending off several of those on a camping trip in the northern states or Alaska......

This is the stump I am working on, I don't think I will be able to get it out of the whole with the tractor. But I can at least try and break as much of the roots and see what I can do. Might just call a dozer and pay to have the 5 I need ripped out and be done with it. But, I really enjoy working the backhoe and it gives me something to do once the ground dries out a bit.

This is where I plan to make a wider apron and cover it for the tractor and attachments, so I can have my carport back.

If you can cut the roots you can get that stump out. It is doable with what you have, it is just a matter of how much time do you have.

Get a ripper tooth for the backhoe.
