Very nice cabin Slacker. I know from experience it is very satisfying to build your own cabin in the woods. I hope you don't mind me posting a pic of the one I built. It has given me many many hours of fun and relaxation. I hope you have as much fun enjoying yours as I do.

Great looking cabin. So tell us about your plans for the 3rd story deck. Observation deck? Deer stand?

Beautiful cabin TNHF! I really like the roof. Is it standing seam? If so, did you use firring strips on the hip roof or plywood? My hiproof is just 2x4 joists with 1x4 furring/nailing strips on it. I'm using standing seam on the cabin, but I don't think SS can go on furring strips. I'll probably have to use two different types of metal.

Yes and Yes! :) Actually I'm planning on digging a pond and the third story deck will give an excellent view. My little buddy says I should put a waterslide from the top deck down to the pond!

Slacker,
That is a cool little cabin you got there. Who needs anything more anyway? I envy you in that you now have a cozy comfortable place to do your hunting and relaxing. Just great.
By all means, add the water slide for your little buddy too.

Slacker, not quite sure what you mean by standing seam, so I can't answer that question. Used 1x4 firring strips under the roof, no plywood. No problems experienced to date.
