Sounds like easy money. I rarely run over ground smooth enough to go 8 or 9 mph. Without trying to take flight from my seat and testing out the seatbelt

I'd love to bushhog that place for the money! Of course, I look for things to do with the tractor, and if it was that close, and that smooth, I'd be in heaven! Great job!

ITs not electric. This buy bought the place about 6 months ago and the fence was already there. He uses it for his dogs when he leaves. They must be in heaven with 3 acres:thumbsup:

Yea, it was smooth. But 8mph is too much for the bushhog. I did the figuring once, lets see if I can remember...

Each blade has 6" of "cutting surface. With 2 blades, each RPM can only effectively cut 1 foot of grass. So at 540 RPM, and a 1:1 gearbox, thats 540 fpm I can mow. Which is 6.13 MPH before I out run the bushhog.

I checked my manual, and my 2H is 5.3 MPH. And 3H jumps to 7 something. But if I had a mower with a faster blade speed.........this one is kinda slow compared to some, but it is a HD cutter made for dense stuff. Its only running a little over 10,000fpm blade speed. I have seen some 16,000+.

@ 5.3MPH, that makes my max 3.85 acres /hr. Looks like I was about 78% efficient.

Good deal! What brand of rotary cutter you got? My Bush Hog brand tends to not cut great at faster speeds and its been that way since new. Low 2 or Low three is what I run in 90% of the time.
