Had to dig a grave with my Kubota L5040 and bury my beloved Brittany Spaniel today. 16 years of faithful frendship. He used to love to run alongside my tractor here on our farm and today for the first time he rode on it to his grave near the creek he loved to swim in so much. It was our last romp together. Thank you Skipper for being my friend.

My condolences I had to put my cocker down 5 years ago, did it myself since he had grown to completely fear the vet while he had been ill.
One of the hardest things I ever did, and he is buried in the woods right outside my bedroom window. He is always near me......

My Kubota has performed this service 4 times so far, it never gets easier.
Our 4 legged friends are always there for us and make us smile. I consider it an honor to have had such a faithful friend and to have given him/her their final resting place. I'm sure you do also.

I'm sorry to hear of of your loss. I too had to bring my black spaniel to the vet on 21 Feb of this year. We couldn't save her and after thirteen years of love she left us.
Even now, over three months later it's difficult, but time moves on. The hardest part of grieving for a pet is being afraid of the reaction from some people who might say " it was only a dog (cat or whatever)" to "just get another one".
Those of us who really love their pets who never say that. Grieve, and when the time comes that you might consider getting another furry friend consider all the love they give.

It's always tough when you lose a family member, and that's what our pets are.
I lost my shepherd about two years ago and he was as loyal as they come. I still miss that 125 pound furry bundle of love.

Sorry for your loss.I cried like a baby ,while running my hoe,digging a grave for my black lab ,PEPPER.Kids sat on the large pine stump,beside me ,holding the dog,rapped in a homemade quilt.Its been almost two years and i aint over it yet.It does get easier in time my friend

I can't agree more that this is the saddest job ever to do with my tractor.
I had to dig a grave with my Kubota for my mostly beagle companion of 15 years this past Feb. Time heals, but it can still bring a tear to my eye to this day. I could not move 2 feet without her being by my side. Be comforted in your wonderful memories of time spent together knowing you gave them the best life you could.
And for those of us that still have our companions with us, take lots of photos and even videos of our best friends, because as time heals, memories fade.
