My Kubota performed the saddest service a tractor can do

I've had to bury a few pet horses for friends over the years, I always feel the worst when I have to tamp the soil with the front tractor wheels so coyotes don't get to digging, feels disrespectful of their pet.

Had to dig a grave with my Kubota L5040 and bury my beloved Brittany Spaniel today. 16 years of faithful frendship. He used to love to run alongside my tractor here on our farm and today for the first time he rode on it to his grave near the creek he loved to swim in so much. It was our last romp together. Thank you Skipper for being my friend.

so sorry for your loss, i lost my black lab 4 years ago and i still think of him every day. he was a true family member- i know what you are feeling, I cried, can't even remember doing that- you'll be fine, cherish the memories and thank God for letting the pup adopt you for awhile.

Two years ago I had to do the same. Corkey wasn't a close family member, we only had her 2 years for the end of her life but it's still tough. When the day comes when either one of our two beagles passes, since they've been with us from day 1, it'll be much harder. I just try to remind myself that it's not about their passing but the fact that I've tried my best to give them great healthy lives with lots of land to run on. Moving on doesn't mean forgetting.

My condolences to you and your family. That's pretty a rough service to perform I've had to bury 4 pets, and it never gets easier. I still miss them all..

I buried my dog 10 years ago, did'nt have tractor so I hand dug. Half shepard and half husky. Her name was Lucy. She was the greatest dog in the world. Still to this day I wonder if I was a good enough master for her. Have'nt had a dog since! My condolences to you.

Dogs are truly man's best friend. When they go, you miss them terribly. My condolences as well.

When it come to pets, if you cry then I cry also.
My Golden is 11 years. My wife and I have discussed cremation. He is one amazing dog, we also have three Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. All 6 years and younger. What a family we have. I am 66 and wonder of the future. I trust in God.

So sorry for your loss, over the years I have lost a few of my best friends and it never gets any easier. Always try if you can be there in the end, they need to see you, after all you are there life.

Soo sorry about your loss, The best thing I ever did was over-rule the Ms. and adopt my Labbie. My Ginger and I are inseperable and can't imagine loosing her. All we can do to console ourselves is the fact that we allways do the best by our animals. Your precious freind Skipper is up there with a smile knowing how much love you had for him.

Our beloved Golden/Lab mix "Zeus" passed away last November after 14 + years. He was healthy until the end and just plain wore out. I drank a 5th of Whiskey and cried all day, then drove him up to our vet. I remember looking back at him, he was sitting in the back seat of my truck looking out the window at the sunset...

It's just **** tough. I think about all the people in the world that abuse, hurt, and/or kill animals, kids, etc. and I don't get it at all.

We're picking up a new Fox Red Labrador on the 18th; very excited but Zeus will always be with us.
