My L3400

Hello everyone. My name is Jack and I'm from south Mississippi. Looking forward reading some good stuff about tractors and other tractors related matters. I have a Kubota L3400 and so far I love it. I have only use it for three days so far, but it did what I wanted it to do. That's all that counts.

I have a 3400 too!
Mine is almost 3 years old and a little over 300 hours.. The little bota is truly a working animal!

Thanks, So far I like everything about it. I have been reading about some 3400's that have a jurky three point hitch. Have you exsperance this with yours? I have no implements yet, so I don't know how mine will act once I hook a box blade on back.

Yep it seems they all do it to one extent or another, It has not been a real problem for me, Think of it like this when the hitch is raised there is a jerk when it stops, it is kinda like "digital" on the way up and "analog" on the way down. It will not come up smoothly, without a jerk at the end. so this is what I do: when I want a specific height on an implement I just raise the lift in one motion past the point I want the implement to be, and then "feather" it down to the exact height you want it. As on the way down the hitch is as smooth as silk, so you will be able to get it exactly where you want it. Of course this assumes that you have the drop speed valve under the seat adjusted to drop smoothly and slowly for the weight of the implement. By the way, put some fluid film or other lube on the shaft of that knob, to keep if from rusting solid. Mine was immovable when delivered, and took some penetrating oil and very carefull application of a pair of water pump pliers to get it moving. Now it is super easy. Oh and by the way, if the hitch will not drop, check to see if you have squirmed around and accidently adjusted the knob to "closed" and now the hitch wont drop at all. don't ask how I know.

Welcome. I too have a 3400 and love it. You will find that many member here have L3400's, so any problems at all that you encounter, you will be in good hands.

I see you went with the AG's for tires too. That was probabally a good decision if you plan on getting into muddy situations with the loader.

Have you filled the rear tires yet??? If not, do that and get you a heavy implement on the back (bush hog or boxblade). If you thought the tractor was impressive before when doing your pond, you will be blown away with the ballasting.

While I am on the rusted solid thought, the suspension seat comes to mind, seems about half of them delivered, if they have been setting in the dealers lot for a while are stuck, or just sort of work.. lube it up real good if it still goes up and down, and don't forget to adjust it with the handle under the back of the seat for your weight, to suspend you off the of "bottom" so you ride suspended in comfort, and dont have you spine shoved thru your brain stem When you hit a hard jolt. If it is stuck, put some penetrating oil on it and let her set for a day or two, then tilt the seat and get up and stand on the platform, holding on to the ROPS and do the Wiley Coyote, stomp a few hundred times. this is best done without an audience. This will free it up, then keep it lubed good.

Thanks, I know what your saying and I'll try that. I've kinda had to do that on an old
MF-135 years ago. We just thought, that's the way it ran.
