My M59 simply will not start

check to make sure the cruise control is COMPLETELY back all the way. If it is somewhat foreward , my intellipanel says HST neutral and prevents starter from getting power, thus no start. Alternatively, that safety switch could be bad, same result.
Cruise control? I want that! What's the part number?

Out on the M59 today with land plane. The intella panel is telling you the HST pedal is not in neutral and will not start. Follow rScotty technique. Check for debris or mud above and below. Be a good time to spray lubricant on the various shafts and linkage joints.

Might be the switch but check the easy stuff first.

Clutch not depressed or pto on will also not let it start and corresponding messages.

Had a dry weed stem get into the hst control linkage that was given me intermittent problems of starting the B26. Wasn’t obvious at first.

Check the small push-on battery lead that connects to the positive battery terminal behind the main lead...it's hard to see by just pulling off the battery cover and is almost hidden behind the main cable. When it pops off it falls behind the battery, so if you see the male terminal without the smaller wire, run you hand back behind the battery and you should be able to fish it out and push it back on.

Pops off on mine occasionally and drove me nuts for a few hours

I just ran into this hidden spade lug problem today while changing to a new battery. Luckily I had just read this old 2013 thread & figured out what was going on. It's sure not obvious. It is supposed to snap lock together, and probably did when new.
