My Mouse/Rodent Controller

Early this summer this little guy showed up in my pasture. In less than a week he lost all fear of my tractor and brushhog. Every time I'm out cutting my pasture he shows up for a snack. He follows a few feet my tractor looking for the scurrying mice and voles. Sunday morning I was tilling the garden and sure enough he was back.

We have the same issues with coyotes in our area.They will follow right behind the tractor in broad daylight dining on the rodent buffet.No fear of humans or machines.Seems like coyotes have made it to the top of the food chain.Only preditors are humans.....

Kewl, don't see red fox where I am. Allot of grays though.

Hawks are what follow you down here, I have had 5-10 follow when cutting hay or just mowing.

and the first sign with any wild animal is when they lose their fear of humans or machines there is a good chance they are rabbid...so do be careful. It is not normal for a racoon, oppossum, fox, coyote or any other critter to not run when they see a human or tractor.

I don't know about that, in some cases maybe. As another poster stated, Coyotes around here are bad. They will stop and look at you, your truck, tractor ... this summer in one of my hayfields a Coyote was intent on coming out and enjoying the feast ... the cutter, the tractor nothing seemed to change his mind. Lucky for him I was unarmed....

These guys are pretty smart. A few years ago I was on a night time game drive in Kenya. The lions would actually shadow the Land Rovers and then jump out onto antelope who were blinded by the spotlights. Animals learn fast, especially where food is involved.
