"I sure hope the new 2520 will push the snow without chains,"

Rev,

It will, but if you have very much of it, you'll need either loaded tires or the weight box on the back. Others have reported that chains help too, and I'm sure they would, but haven't tried them myself.

I tried plowing 12 inches with the front blade and, even with six wheel weights, it was slip and slide. 809 lbs in the weight box solved the problem.

Your place is beautiful, as are your "old" tractors.

I had a 2720 with the 47 blower. I did my 600 foot plus sloping driveway with ease and no chains. I did use a weight bucket though.

Great houses guys!
I know all about the blood sweat and tears of it. But most of all I know about the pride!

All beautiful homes guys.....there sure is a feeling of satisfaction once you finally see the fruits of your efforts, but we all know the frustrations that went along with it, don't we. Nice to be done with it, but if you're like me.....once is enough.

Runner......Rob-D.....
I am getting a ballast box with the unit, primarily because I have read a number of postings that say the traction is much improved with the additional weight on the back.

We don't really get all that much snow in my neck of the woods, mostly dumps of around 6-8 inches would be considered the "norm". My X495 has done the job fine. I would think the 2520 with 4 wheel drive and the extra weight of the tractor and ballast, should do at least as well as the "Chained" 2 wheel drive X495.

We'll see how it works out, but I think it should be OK

Don't forget to stay tuned, for the "Mystery" accessory on the 2520.

Revitup,
One thing I did was buy about five 42# weights from my dealer. I leave room in the BB for them so when it's on they add another 225# to the load of bricks I already have there. When I need front ballast I just run them to the front weight attach.

Yes, even though it has been two years since it was finished I still just stand and look at it some days. We are only in our 30's, so it was tough financially and finding free time since we both work full time too. Sorry for the threadjack! :)

Hang in there JDGreengrass........I promise I will post pics as soon as I get it. Besides, there were pictures posted, just not pics of the 2520.

Supposedly the missing brackets will be in tomorrow, and they will finish getting it ready. Hey.....you never know, I may get real lucky and get delivery tomorrow, but in reality, I would be happy if it's here by Thursday.

You all know about dealer promises. When I ordered the tractor, I was told it would be about 2 weeks for delivery.....as of tomorrow, it will be starting the 7th week since my order. Oh well, I haven't had to part with any money yet.

It's OK REV, all is forgiven, no one can be responsible for anything they say or do when waiting for a tractor. You get complete Papal Dispensation but try not to kill to many people or animals, especially your family. (They always get it first 'cause they are the closest! Besides if you kill them there will be less people there to be excited when it finally does come.)
