My new 5055D was delivered today.

That is a good looking tractor. There seem to be a lot of them around here and I have yet to hear a bad word. Maybe you could post some reviews in this thread along the way and tell how you like it in doing specific tasks, etc? Does yours have a toolbox?

Will do..... I was using the 5 ft. rotary mower in some heavy grass before the days and days of rain started..where the MF231 would have bogged down the JD5055 took a deeper breath and powered through...pretty cool...grinned from ear to ear.

Only thing so far is the loader does not look as beefy as the 232 loader on the MF I have not put it use yet so just an observation.

I don't know if your dealer told you, but that tractor will accept a 553 loader which is what goes on the 5E's. Lift cap goes up quite a bit, and it's a QA loader. While yours is still new, if you want to swap it out, now would be the time.

Yes I knew in advance about the 553 loader. I had to make some $$ decisions.

I understand. I was really pushing my limits when I bought my 5E. Mine was a rental return so the price wasn't much higher to get 4WD. I originally was looking at getting a 5045D or 5055D. If it wasn't for them having the rental return available, we would most likely have matching tractors.:drink:

I think the loader is going to do everthing I will need it to do capacity wise. Just the MF232 loader frame is more like the 533.

They had just got a5065E trade in right before I got there and it sold within minutes....

A little too wet for blade work but I had to pull some manure out from the horses run in. Waiting for it to dry out some before I stick that new bucket into it.

That loader you have will out work and, if taken care of out live you. It's a fine loader and I've seen them beat pretty hard and doing things few of us here would approve of. Keep it greased and if you can run the risk of tracking it inside (it's nasty) use lit-moly grease as opposed to just lithium.
