Hi range is really about moving the tractor from one place to another on level, hard ground. I knocked my lever from mid to high range and didn't notice it until I tried working. The engine bogged down and I couldn't do any work. I was new to the tractor and was getting bummed out till I noticed where the power lever was.

I use med range 80% of time and rarely need high range as I dont usually road the tractor. With the foam filled tires it takes alot more time/power to get to top speed but its well worth it when using the 4n1 as a sod cutter or bulldozer. The foam added about 1200lbs and really lets it work moving dirt. I have the rubber pads and 90% of the time have them flipped over to get better traction. Overall I would bet that if it had more power I would miss use it and tear something up.
