LD...It looks like you can back drag with the teeth on and not leave any toothmarks. Kinda like a flat tooth bar. Is that right?

How would you position the bucket to do that? Use the back of the bucket to level? If the bucket has any dump tilt beyond flat won't the teeth tips will be lower than the rest of the bucket and will leave marks.

What did you use to drill the cutting edge? I want to drill through mine to use for a bolt-on edge underneath the original. Step drill?

JayC

Just a regular good sharp drill bit. The cutting edge was not that hard. Except the back hole had to be drilled throug the weld, and once I got through the 1/8" or so bucket steel, and hit the cutting edge directly under the weld, it was hard. So I had to heat them all good and hot with the torch and let them slow-cool, and then I could drill it.

Yep, bucket has to be flat. Just like the flat bottom toothbars. Any tilt and the bucket teeth will dig. But as I mentioned before, it don't backdrag much at all. I use the 3ph blade for that. My bucket is used for digging and carrying stuff.

You made mention to a setup to hold logs for cutting with the chain saw. Could you post a picture?

No pics and tractor is ont with me now.

But go back and look at the second pic. Zoom in.

See the peice of angle iron welded in the corners of the bucket. This is the perfect size for 2x2 square tube. You can actually see the "stub" forks in there. They are just to keep the mud and dirt from packing in when digging.

I actually have longer peices that extend out from the bucket by about 22", and are tapered to a point. The back is drilled and tapped for a bolt. The bolt doesnt hold any force, just keeps them from falling out. You can see the bolts in the pics.

And if you actually look at the first pic, you can see the forks sticking up out of the brush guard on the front. That is the place I made to store them:thumbsup:

I like it. My back is feeling better just thinking about having a set up like this. I'm not privileged with a welder but I'm sure I could anchor something together.

Any updates on your new tooth bar? I too have been following this thread and am curious to see how they hold up and how they dig. I would just like to hear your opinion before I order some tooths myself

I actually got a chance to try them out for the first time just today:thumbsup:

I had to dig some potholes out and re-grade my uncles driveway.

They performed about as well as one could expect trying to dig up hard packed driveway base:laughing:

But overall so far so good.

I know this thread has sat for almost a year, but how has your bucket tooth setup held up thus far? I'm hoping you have been able to really test them out since last April and share your thoughts because I am thinking about copying your setup myself. Thanks!

No issues whatsoever.

I havent done a whole ton of digging, but a good bit none the less.

Plus the countless things I have lifted/moved by chaining/strapping to a tooth or two
