how do you figure out what percentage the under carriage is?

You take measurments using such tools called calipers and measuring taps. Using these tools you measure the sprockets, idlers, rollers, and etc. You get the % by the ware on those certain parts.

It's probably the wrong part of the economic cycle to start a business like that. But it's a good time to accumulate equipment for when (if?) the economy recovers.

I already own all the equipment for a constrct business. Purchased it to build our new 100 000 sq/ft barn. It was cheaper to buy used equipment then hire someone to do the work and in the end, I own everything

100,000 sq ft? That is one monster barn! Over 2 acres of barn, wow! Well at least you have space to store the equipment

Well, its actually a Swine barn, its our new Farrowing Barn. We had a fire in the end of 2007, lost everything, so we are in the process of rebuilding all the new barns, I ll shoot some pics up here tomorrow once I get on the Work comp.
