Scotty-- followed you by a few days:

Well, as "promised," I made it up today-- it's about 250 miles, all told, for me to get on the top of the mtn and back home. Takes the whole day on the bike!

Was feezing my bippy off on the way up this AM, in the fog along the CT River valley... finally started seeing sun around Lisbon, NH @ 9:30. Went over Sugar Hill to Franconia, over another hill to Bethlehem, then east on 302 to just before the base station of the Cog Railway... there's this little road that goes through Jefferson Notch --dirt all the way, but in pretty good shape this year-- that gets you out onto Rte 2- East again to 16, then south to the Auto Rd.

Came back via 112 (Kancamagus) and 118 to Rte 4 in Canaan, then home. Exhausting, but a great day. Lotsa sun on my face today!

Here's some shots.

Please pardon my ignorance, but when I was doing the bike race up Mt Washington I thought heard tell that it is part of the PRESIDENTIAL range.

Although with enough physical effort, the temperature drop and slightly thinner air - I might have hallucinated, but check around, Mt Adams (& others) might be close by.

Nice pics Scott, looks like you had a perfect week weather wise. So what was your favorite part...? It was the tax-free part, right? :D

Good Evenin Derek,
Oh absolutely !!! :)

Actually the best part was going out on the lake just before sunset, taking in all the sights when that sun went down behind the mountains, and then motoring home through the canal durring twilight ! ;)

Oh almost forgot, the cocktail waiting for me when we docked the boat ! :)

Good Evenin Reg,
Honestly I dont know ! I know Mt Washington is part of the White Mountains but other than that your going to have to ask Derek or one of the others locals ! ;)

You are correct, it is part of the "Presidential Range" in the White Mountains Area.

Here's a couple pics from where I'm currently excavating. Mt Washington is the tall one;). Great weather this week, it usually isn't this clear, as the second pic shows.
