My New JD 2110 Arrived!

SubVet, are you indirectly saying that chains might have helped you get around? Or was it just too deep? Also since I do not recall from your earlier posts, I am wondering if you have turf or ag tires. I know Big Pete has both sets of tires (lucky guy).

My 2210 is supposed to be delivered tomorrow morning. Hooray! Of course Murphy's Law was at work - buy a new tractor in winter and get a foot of snow accumulation during the 2 days before the tractor is delivered. Wouldn't be so bad but my old tractor broke a connecting rod (reason for buying a new one) and the muffler and a wheel broke off my snowblower when I tried to use it yesterday.

Took 2 1/2 hours to clear 8 inches off my driveway today by hand with my wife and son helping me. Took me alone about the same time yesterday with 4 inches. Bet the 2210 will clear the snow in much less time!

I may help, but I dont think they would have made a big difference. I have turf tires, I believe the root of the problem was the snow was deeper than the tires are tall. They just dont roll too well went they are completely under the snow. The snow may have also been deep enough to accumalate under the tractor and "pick it up" so to speak .

We had only 23" /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gifabout 100 miles south of you, SubVet. I have the front blade in addition the the loader, and had to travel between nearby properties with my blade 6" off the ground to make passage for my wheels. In this amount of snow, the 12" clearance of the tractor is a bigger issue than the type of tires. Having said that, the bar tires do make a big difference in snow vs. turf tires up to the point where a tractor gets stuck no matter what type of rubbermeat it puts on the road.

BTW, the 54" front blade w/bars on the 2210 is one awesome combination for snow. I never had to add weights during my work in that mess. A couple of times I found myself on top of the snow, but never without traction.

What size Bar tires do you have on the front? I'm looking for a set of bar tires to fit the front of my X595 and it was my understanding they were the same as yours.

They are 18 x 8.50 - 10 inch tires. I don't know if the lug pattern from the 2210 matches the X . Your dealer could tell you for certain. The front tires and rims list for $213, but you should get them for $200, I would guess. I know JD offers HDAP tires for the X series, but I don't know about the bars. Here's a profile picture.

I've never fully grasped the distinction, but I've had more than one dealer politely correct me when I've used the term "ag tire." JD's literature calls the tires for cuts "bar tires." Here's a pic of the fronts, followed by the rears.

I think the difference is the height of the lug. From what I've seen, the R1 lugs are much higher than the ribs on the bar tire.

I'm no expert on this, but that is what I have come to believe after seeing both R1 and bar tires...
