My new kubota is a dieselholic!!

Well my dieselholic problem is solved!!!! My power is back and I could not be happier. :)

I took a chance and decided to drain the fluid out of all four tires and the difference is like getting rid of a heavy boat anchor. My 3240 feels like my 3430 did (plenty of power for hills and now I can mow at 6.5-7 mph instead of 4-4.5 mph. I have used my 724 loader and have yet to break the tires lose with my 700lb mower on thre back as a counter weight.

Thanks all for your help and I will post the fuel consumption difference in a few days. I can already see that it seems to be much improved like maybe around 1-1.1 gal hour while mowing.
The real test would be whether you can mow noticeably faster on level ground. There is no doubt that fluid causes a comparative loss over wheel weights, and that the loss will increase with speed. The issue is how much in the 0 to10mph range....

Your front tires were filled?

Yes they were and now the steering is like night and day difference. Also, the operator manual says NOT to fill the front tires.

When I ordered my 3240cab tractor I did not order filled tires and had no idea they were filled until I went to check the tire pressures one day and got a wet surprise.

I did that test yesterday and the difference is huge. I can now mow at 7-8.5 mph with my 6ft woods prd RFM. I could never come close to that before likewise the tractor would just bog down like it was way down on hp.

I also can tell a difference towing the tractor, now it tows much easier and less down shifting on hills. I also can tell that it is less stress on my gate ramp on my 18ft trailer. Before it was maxing out my ramp to the point of near failure now it seems to be much better.

I really think that small hp tactors that already weigh as much as the grand L tractors don't really need fluid in the tires to be effective doing the tasks they were designed for. That being said my cab 3240 weighs nearly 4k and has 4wd when needed, so adding an additional 1200 lbs is not worth the loss of hp when you only have 25 pto to work with. On larger tractors with more pto hp I can see how the weight would be a bonus.
