My New Lights

Very nice setup. How did you mount your switches? Also, what did you use for switches?
I just put a light on my snowblower. Had to drill a hole in the dash. The switch was a rated-for-outdoor use that I got at Home Depot - can't really tell from your picture, but maybe yours is the same. Also picked up a little rubber cover that screws down on to the switch. You don't even realize the cover's not part of the original switch/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif. I,too, have to get my film developed /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif so I'll have to wait on the pictures.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

I haven't really considered a way to protect the lights from branches. In my case, all my trees are in one area (and they are big) so I don't have a lot of low hanging branches to dodge. If I had a welder, I'd weld some square tubes around each light in a simple rectangular configuration.

The switches are visible in the first picture (they are on the paper in the upper right corner). They are simple lighted rocker switches available from TSC or Trak Auto. My NH has plastic plugs that I can knock out of the dash for additional switches. I'm not sure if my switches are weatherproof or not. Since my tractor is garage kept I'm not too concerned about it. I just drilled a hole in the knockout and connected my switch to it. I have one switch for the forward lights and one for the rear. Rear light is a flood, front two are trapazoids. One last comment, all three lights can easily swivel (and I left enough wire for that) so I can have all three facing forward or whatever. As much as I'd like to have a canopy, it will be hard to give up the folding ability of the ROPS (when a canopy is installed).

BTW RobS how do you like your 790? I came real close to buying one of those.

Peter, I was thinking of attaching something to that big cross member of the FEL for my chainsaw. That would be a good place that would be out of the way and easy to get too when needed. Also, I wouldn't forget the saw when I was done for the day /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
