My new to me Ford 3000 with FEL. What do i have?

I was given this tractor from my uncle who inherited it from his father. my Uncle already has a kubota and a skid steer. He said the last thing he needed was another tractor. Anyway i'm not to sure what exactly I have.

I know it is a 1969 37hp gasser with a FEL added to it. Im not sure what brand FEL it is or what the hydraulics system is. I know i would like to do a crank driven hydraulic pump and run a joystick to control the loader. Unsure what exactly i need right now to do that but i have been researching. Thanks for any help you can give me on the FEL.

Plans for it:
clean it up
different hydraulic system (loader is way to slow)
3pt backhoe
ballast box
would like a grapple for fire wood
build a brush guard

How's it coming along with the new tractor?

Have you had a chance to use it yet?


Sure looks to be a well cared for machine and should have many years of good service ahead.

Oh yeah, ive put about 15 hours on it. I will be slowing down now till the new year. Its hunting season so no more working on the property. I will be using it to level out some fill dirt im going to make a driveway to my future barn. Im starting to go through withdrawals.

That is the same loader that is on my 3000, was on it when I bought it 11 years ago. Probably the heaviest load I have had in my bucket was gravel which I have done a bunch of times with only my box blade on the back. So far haven't broken anything on the front end or had the rear off the ground.

The tag is still on mine, tag says Schwartz model 1300 1400

Mine also uses the tractor hydraulics but with an adapter plate and separate Cross double spool valve. Have thought about changing it over to a front driven pump but came to the conclusion it isn't worth the trouble and expense. It's a little slow but gets the job done. I figure the tank in the loader frame has a pretty good coat of rust on the inside and who knows what kind of mess it might be. Add the difficulty and expense of finding a pump and drive components and doesn't take too much for me to say It's fine the way it is.

Regarding an upgrade to the front axle.....bout the only suggestion I have, and thats if you can find salvage parts.....find a front axle out of a Ford 3400
