My New toy

Here is a pic of my new toy. It was advertised as a 51 cub.. but due to some of the features, i think it may be slightly newer. I'm awaiting manuals, etc so I can start tinkering on it. Mechanically it is sound.. looks great too.. no leaks. There is some wiring problems with the lights.. and I'm not sure if it is charging or not.. but for now starts and runs great, cuts grass great.. and the blade is in great condition.. hydraulics are strong.

It has been garage kept, so since my fords are taking up all my barn space, I had to go add on the the hay shelter I had it parked under.. now it has a slightly better home.

Ok, the last 3 shots were yesterday, while it was parked under the hay shelter.. I went to the hardware store this morning and picked up some roofing tin, caulk, 2x4's and fence boards and a couple pounds of nails. For 147$ and about 4 hours work, including the short trip to the local hardware store, I now have a slightly bigger shed for it.. as a bonus.. there is still room for a round bale of hay!

Nice! I've gotta do the shelter thing myself this weekend. The Kubota Hut took a pretty good hit last week when the Hurricane came through. While we were well off the gulf coast, the winds were still pretty strong.

The 'Bota "was" enclosed in a nice four sided King Canopy. Now it's in the <font color="red"> Leaning Tower of 'Bota </font> ! The velcro wrap never let go of the pipes, but the fabric it was attached to did. So now the sides are hanging free. Picked up a couple of packages of gommett's and we'll try a little southern engineering on it. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I tried the tarp and fabric tops a few times.. but the wind around my place just beats everything to death.. everything I make now I just frame out of 2x4's and cover it with roofing tin. So far, I've done a couple for the dogs, a couple for the pigs, and one for the turkeys, and a couple for the chickens.. Hopefully wind is lower where you live, as those tarp/fabric toppers are easy to erect... I just can't get away with it here.

Winds probably about the same. I just need it to last a few more weeks. We're building a house on the property and I don't want to put up a permenant structure until I figure out where I really want it. Downloaded a BUNCH of free plans for shelters on the net the other day. Found a goverenment site that had just about anything you could want. I'll have to look up the site and post where I found them later.

Nice! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gifThe thing looks almost new. What do you have planded for this one? Just mowing? I also think it may be newer. I don't know all the changes made through the years on the cub's, but didn't they have the "Farmall look" till the late 50's, early 60's?
