My heater works just fine at -40F.
Don't forget to add the stick on heating pad to the bottom of the transaxle before winter. You'll be glad you did. I also have a stick on heating pad on the side of my engine oil pan too. Combining those with the regular block heater, I plug in all 3 via a triple outlet pig tail that is zip tied to my upright on my loader arm. Then I just plug this into my outside timer in winter. When you hop in and start her up in the morning, she's warm and ready to go.
It will spoil you fast, being warm and comfortable while pushing snow in gale force winds.
