I found one on the side of the road for sale -$300.00 - it is around 4-5 feet and can be offset. Bush Hog brand...looks like tines are in good shape.

Can anyone tell me if I got a good deal?

Also, the seller said some oil came out of the gearbox (I think it is chain driven) what kind of oil do I put back? How full do I make it?

There should be a gear box that the PTO shaft goes into, and on the side there should be a case that the chain is in.

The gear box should have a breather that acts as a dipstick.

The side with the chain ussually has a sight glass for oil fill level.

Can you find a model number on it? It does not sould like you have the manual. The gear and chain oils are ussually 75w90, and some chains want 75w140.

The price seems verry good. 80-90 gear oil. Some pics would be nice as I am curious on how you offset it.
