Chipper My new Woodmaxx WM-8H wood chipper

I have a B3300SU & I'm very close to pulling the trigger on the WoodMaxx WM-8H too. My tractor is only slightly larger than yours vic4news (I'm over in West Chesterfield, NH - not far from you) so I'm very pleased to hear how well it performs for you!

My Woodmaxx was delivered in late July and I run it on my NH Boomer 30 (28hp, 23 hp pto) and while I would like more horsepower, it does pretty good. I have about 50 acres of old Christmas tree farm and I have chipped a lot of pines so far that have been cut down to clear food plots. I have little problems with anything up to 4" and I can put 6" through it if I pause when it hogs down by stopping the hydraulic feed. I have yet to stall the tractor or break a sheer bolt.

I've chipped smaller birch and poplar and a lot of pine. I've got enough firewood already to keep any pine, so all the pine goes in and anything over 3-4" of hardwood gets saved.

I pulled the trigger today & ordered a shiny new Orange WoodMaxx WM-8H!! Can't wait, I guess now I'm committed to taking my BH-77 backhoe off - it's been on for 2 years!! I hope I remember how to get it off (& back on)!!!

Assembly is complete - turns out I didn't have to cut the PTO shaft after all! I'm hoping to get out tomorrow & put it to use!!!

Thanks to everyone who posted in this and other threads about the Woodmaxx WM-8H. You have helped my research. I'm just about sold on buying one myself. The reports seem to be generally very good, on both the chipper and the company that sells it.

My JD 4600 HST has 34.5 PTO HP, so I should have plenty of power for it.

I ordered one this week, looks to be about a 2-week wait before it'll ship.

I think a yellow/black painted one will look good on my Yanmar LX.

Well, I did it! I placed my order online tonight for a Woodmaxx WM-8H chipper. I'm getting yellow, which should look fine on my John Deere. I didn't see the need to pay an extra $50 for a yellow & green two-tone paint job. I think I prefer the standard yellow, with a little black, anyway.

I think Woodmaxx's youtube videos have been a great selling point. After playing the videos, I had no problem selling the chipper purchase to my wife (she likes the idea of making our own mulch). My Mom offered me $500 towards getting the hydraulic model (she has a staghorn sumac problem), and I've got two co-workers offering to help me put it together when it comes in. :laughing:

Yes. The videos helped to sell me on it, then I showed them to my wife. She was worried that I would spend money on a chipper that wouldn't be rugged enough to to the job. If it works as well as in the videos, it should handle what we need. Any hardwoods much over 2 inches, I turn into firewood, anyway. I would like to chip the softwood trunks up to 6 inches or so.

Interesting plow setup you have mounted on your loader.
