My new Yanmar YT359C

I love the new style Yanmars. I have kicked the tires on the YT359 several times. Lots of nice features, great ground clearance, lots of power with a big Cu. In. naturally aspirated engine. But two things put it out of contention for me. Price. The local dealer must really love that machine I guess. And, the GPM on the main hydraulic system being rated at 9.4GPM. Too low for what I need. I have plans to use a hydraulic auger on the backhoe stinger, so I need at least 11 GPMs, preferably 12. I guess that new transmission takes up a lot of hydraulic power. B.

The transmission is completely separate from the main hydraulic pump, so this has no impact to the main pump's performance. I think the difference here is that Yanmar chose to have separate steering and main hydraulic pumps. I imagine they figured they would need less output, given that the steering wouldn't be drawing from the main pump. I remember doing some comparisons between the YT359 and the 4066R. If you sum the two pumps you get similar performance on the two, but I suppose that a single pump has the advantage that if you are parked and running the implement(not steering), you get the benefit of the larger flow.

Just a note:. Nearly all modern CUT machines run separate system & streering pumps. Just FYI

This little snippet from the latest 4066R brochure led me to believe there is a single pump, but maybe it is not worded correctly.

My guess is that's their total combined output for the two pumps... I think JD and Massey have the two top output pumps in the CUT segment, both around 12gpm. They probably just wrote it that way for marketing purposes

I think there is a slaved pump setup - so in a way, both would be correct. But I could be wrong!
