I agree on the shift boots. They would look much better black.

I was out yesterday working on getting it dirty. One funny thing, while I was working, I heard this loud intermittent noise. I was listening to music, but finally realized the tractor was making it off and on. I was a little scared something bad happened. I got off and looked it over and finally convinced myself that the horn was sounding randomly. Fredricks doesn't connect the horn, but it's still there and the wires go who knows where. Apparently the hot wire was occasionally touching something hot. BEEEP! :D

Another funny observation. I have unfortunately discovered that the YM2210 is so much more powerful than the YM1700 that I can leave the parking brake set and still go... and not notice until I stop and go to set the parking brake again. *arg*

Are the rear wheels the same bolt pattern as your 1700? The fronts are the same at Hoye, but I couldn't find anything for the rear.

284 -- not sure I understand what you want to know. I believe the current YM2210 wheels do match the YM1700 bolt pattern, but I'd have to double check to make sure. What are you thinking about?

Clemson, have you looked into filling the tires with foam? I've used Slime before, with good luck, on motorcycles, but if you're getting regular punctures, maybe foaming them would be worth it.

I thought about it last year, and asked the local guy that lives near me, who i take tires to local to my house. He said that there is a person in the next town that foams tires. At my farm im only there on the weekend and really on ly have 1.5 days when there so not much time to do things like this. If the cost is not to great i think i will probly get the fronts foam filled. As far as the slime it would have to go into the tubes. This last puncture i got was a peice of stick between 1/4 and 1/8 think that punctured, does slime fix that?

For the same reason some of the hoses are painted etc, its way easier to just spray them too than to mask it off. This i have noticed is common on tractor paint jobs.

my boot never got painted, the return bit of hose did but not the boot?

Nice 2210! I am envious of you, I sold my Yanmar in January and miss having it around. I do have the skid steer taking its place but that little YM169D was a great little tractor for light work. Now that i have said all this, I can see myself getting another Yanmar down the road some day.;)

I was mostly just curious if the rims are the same or not. I remembered you pondering about whether to keep or get rid of a spare set of turf tires for your 1700 and was wondering if those would work.

dont worry, it will crack and peel pretty quickly once you start to use it. paint on rubber dont go very well :D

I was thinking the same thing, and I was thinking about encouraging it a bit.

Good memory on the spare tires on the 1700, although the spare set was the rice tires. I'm advertising the 1700 with the turf tires on.
