Great looking stuff. Madisonville is a really pretty part of Texas. I grew up in that other big city in Texas (Dallas) and like you always wanted that piece of dirt that was mine. I guess maybe that's a Texas thing.

Finally got the electric. Took longer than expected and was costly.

Electricity, water, and septic/sewer are the three biggest hurdles to establishing a homesite. It's because you have to do and pay for the complete job. You can't piecemeal it out over a period of time. Even building a house/structure can be broken down into sub-projects, but for the utility "trinity" you have big chunks to pay. Telephone costs are generally not a big expense, especially with the advent of cell phones.

Great thread. I'm enjoying your pics and comments. Nice to see you moving right along, and enjoying your place. What will you use the pond for? If you want it for fishing, I'd get some structure in there before it fills up on you. My favorite is to pile up some trees. Stumps, branches and everything on top of eacy other in two layers. It might not be pretty to people, but it's pure Heaven for the fish!!!!
