There are good welding videos on Youtube and then there are mine.

Enjoy.

Is "booger weld" a technical term like "bird poop"?

When I stopped your video the next one to pop up was "Weld repair to X-ray quality" :)

You're quite right: "booger weld" is a highly-technical local colloquialism that means strong enough but lacking the facade of professionalism expected from straight, sober welding.

Hate to be the one to say it, your timing is off. That repair gets done in November when it's snowing. ;)

That or when it is 90 degrees with 95% humidity outside and all 42 species of Minnesotan mosquitos are flying around as a way to break up the monotony of swatting at fish flies. :)

Yeah, that's likely why they get done during the first snow and -20 cold snap instead

My bane is the willingness to try! Always enjoy DIY repair vids. Mine never go as planned but do get done somehow.

Good to hear that you're enjoying my videos, dragoneggs. Thanks to my YouTube viewers, I've been able to get a nice tripod and Final Cut Pro editing software in the hopes that I can continue to make better videos. This video was the first video I stepped up and learned to edit with Final Cut Pro.

Anyway, after today I realized that a two-part welding video is a bad idea since the second part would only be three minutes long and so I uploaded the whole thing and linked to the video in my opening post.
