My Solar Shed

We went home on Friday so Matthew could see the doctor and get healed up. Then we went back up the next Monday to continue where we left off. He had completely healed up and had a small scab over the wounds already...what a guy!
We then started to put the roof shingle on, one on one side of the roof and I on the other.

The shed was really starting to shape up now and looks pretty good. This picture shows the roof complete and we're starting to paint the outside walls. All the interior was painted with Thompson's Water Sealer and all cracks etc. sealed up.

The solar contractor poured the concrete slab and told me to "shoot" the boards onto the concrete when he was done, and to use sealer underneath and all around the sides of the pressed wood. My son wanted to put in anchor bolts but I did what he said to do. Once everything was screwed down tight, it did not budge.

So now on to the last leg. We finished painting it and added some trim. I realize there is a lot to be desired, but it's my first crack at it. I'll need to add structural re-inforcement to make it better... I'll do that the next time I go up with my buddy.
Anyway, this is a picture of the double door end ... open door.

And this with them closed up. I'll be going up in 2 weeks to continue this saga. I hope to get some good ideas to make it sturdier and better. But in any case, I like it so far.

After I finish everything, the solar contractor is going to build out the inside and partition it to separate the generator, batteries and invertor controllers. Then he is going to install electric (solar powered) power vents into it.

Looks like a fun project.....love to do that sometime.

Can you please keep us posted here or start another thread that details your photovoltaic system. Anternative energy is where it's at.

Sure Jim,
I was planning on starting a new thread regarding those details. With energy crises being the way it is, there will be quite and effort involving the pursuit of alternative energy sources, IMO.
