Jinman,

Yes, the tires can and do get light. The grapple bucket itself weighs around 750.bs. When I first got my tractor it had the regular HD bucket on it and I noticed the tractor seesawing alot. I called the dealer and asked them if they ballasted the tires and if they did how much did they fill them. They said they thought I didn't want them ballasted. So before I before I ever installed the root grapple I ballasted the tires. I believe this added around 700 lbs. to each tire.

With the boxblade installed, I can't lift the backend no matter the load. But I can still put myself in a bad situation if I give the load an advantage. I had a large load of some green oak logs I was putting on an brush pile. I dropped the bucket real fast some compress the pile and stopped it before I hit the pile. I felt my back wheels bounce on the ground. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

How far? 10 miles.

I might like to come by and check out your grapple. I have a TC-45D which I am looking for a grapple (2 rear remotes) and and a baby NH TC-18D for the wife to mow the vineyard. I am on I-35 between Jarrell and Salado and want to remove a mess of mesquite and hackberry trees before the state starts pushing back my I-35 frontage to expand I-35 to three lanes.
