And.....according to my township authorities, there are 137 single family homes within one mile of mine....to call my area "rural" is stupid beyond logic.
You know all this screaming & wailing about not having the latest in communication technology makes me laugh. I'm just glad we (the graduating class of '60) made it through our youth without all this technology. And to think - that big 'ol wooden box on the wall that you had to hand crank only made phone calls. I guess we were just fortunate to survive.
How did we survive without our smartphones and broadband anyway? :laughing:
The last thing we need is the government fixing it... I think the satellite Internet might force some changes over time. I would seriously look at Dish data and Dish TV combo if it wasn't for the data limits. I don't know how much data I use in a month, and would hate to sign up for 2 year contract only to find out I spend more. I'm not screaming for super fast; just fairly good speed and Reliability. I would be perfectly happy with 500 kb/second if they could actually deliver it all the time. I have no need to download an entire HD movie in 30 seconds.
I can't imagine what the average person needs with 15 megs/second; business I can see.
