Man that takes me back.
I got the call and thought it was a joke. Then Miller treated us like royalty, I even got to take my wife and all it cost was her airfare. The only thing I don't still have and use from the rewards is the hood. I lost it to a freak accident. I wore the leather jacket just today and I use the Miller welding table darn near every day I work in the shop. I even use it when I'm doing wood work. It's handier'n a pocket on a shirt.
I put in a poor showing at the showdown and it is all my own fault. The biggest mistake I made was believing I could do what I do best with unfamiliar tools. Before that event I never used a grinder for cutting material except to sheer off bolts or rebar flush in concrete. It was awkward and I couldn't make accurate cuts. The good news is I'm now proficient with the angle grind cutting. For small stuff it's my preference, old dawg, new tricks. The other thing I did wrong was I had a design in mind and didn't change it even though the time allowed and the tools available made it impossible to do.

However, if you just have to see me on youtube, I prefer this topic,

Ubuntublox is pretty huge for us. They're building machines in India, Vietnam, and we just designed one that I think is the best ever and it is made with wood, can even be made with disassembled pallets.
I'm still doing the hot glue gun stuff here though. Tomorrow I've got to work in a little project modifying a new twenty foot all aluminum car hauler where it can haul a gyrocopter. google trixy aviation in slovenia. I'm working on some hand made roses, three foot across for a gate, all aluminum, a rosebud mailbox made with aluminum, life is good for a man soon to be 66.
