Mystery Metal Found Between Engine and Transmission

I saw on the internet last week that all states ag parts has perkins 152 engines (the size in my 135) for $2000 with a $500 core and a one year warranty. It cost me $3200 or so to go thru my motor (My labor not included). YTMAG has the 152 block for around $900. A reman 152 Perkins diesel here locally goes for about $5400.00 I also used SSB tractor and Stvens tractor for some parts.

Gotta tell you Don - that is worthy of a serious look, for me. $1500 into an engine, or $1500 for a running tractor. :-/ I could take the best of both and scrap/sell the rest. Hmmmm.

Has the spin-out wheels I want too..... dang. It's only money, eh? ;-)

Don - I am in talks with the guy. My uncle has a Farmall 560 that he's going to work with me on, to trade for the MF65. We'll see what happens.

The up-sides on his MF65 for me are pretty good, even though it has a ticky valve.... spin-out wheels, better sheet metal, hood badge and ornaments, head lights and work light, and did I mention that it runs?

I may just end up scrapping the one I have, for the money. I'll try to sell it first.
