I recently bought this mulcher head at the Ritchie Bros auction, where it was described as a Fecon. However, it's not a Fecon so I'm trying to figure out what
it is. What I do know: 64" drum, 77" overall, 26 teeth, Permco M3700A... hydraulic pump pushing 31gpm, hinged door over belts. I've spoken to Fecon,
GyroTrac, CIMAF, & FAE but they all say it's not theirs (all of them were very helpful and w/o a sales pitch). Does anyone have any idea what brand this is?
I need parts. It seems very well made.

I shopped around for a couple of years before buying a mulcher setup and don't remember seeing one like this. It looks new! Did you get a good price on it?

No serial number tag or anything?

Home aka machine shop built?

it has the styling of the gyro trac, maybe it was a prototype or modification.
here's a google image of a gyro trac, similar housing, this one is a little different, but it's the closest i see to what the OP has.

I think it is close to new based on the zirc fittings, bearings, etc. I'm in it for $8K. It would be nice to just order parts...
No plate, Model or Serial # anywhere. The one piece belt (looks like 4 belts underneath) looks like it's for a supercharger on a race car. Is that standard on these mulchers? When I stumbled onto the Gyro Trac 500HF I thought the same thing - this has got to be their's but Odette said no, mainly because the knives aren't spiraled. I really have to commend Odette at GF, Frederic at CIMAF, Brandon at FAE, Ed at Fecon, and Mr. Brown at Brown Brontosaurus for really trying to help identify this thing. Somebody is extremely talented and thorough if this is shop made. I would have proudly put my name on it.
The part I need is the SS side of the electrical connection. It goes to some solenoid looking part plumbed into the small hydraulic hose.
Also, with the excessive fittings to the couplers, somebody later must have rigged this for standard flow. I can't imagine a 64" drum being std flow (I haven't seen anybody else do it). I would like to put high flow fittings on & hook it up to my 4810 but I'm a little hesitant without a little more info. Thanks for the responses so far.

looking at the pictures, it seems to me that the side plates, although very heavy, have been
pitted heavily, which was why i thought maybe it's an older unit that has either been reconditioned,
or redesigned. those knives didn't look like anything i could find online what little bit i searched. they
do not look all that heavy for extreme mulching, maybe for shredding stalks or brush more than
taking trees and stumps down. looks like it will do some damage though!

I'm leaning toward it being home (shop) made.
Two things I see right off in the pictures that make me think that are the welds, and the pitting. An old machine won't pit like that on the vertical pieces, that generally comes from laying flat and holding moisture. I've built some stuff out of similar sheets. The welds just look like stick welds to me, and most manufacturers use mig welders these days. They are a little rough for someone who is a certified welder, and welding these things day in and day out. In other words, it looks like something I might have welded.

I agree it looks homemade or a prototype by someone trying to sell an idea but my first tushhogg, an early model, wasn't the most refined unit I've owned though it held up really well. Right off the bat, at 31 gpm and fixed blades, I didn't see them staggered so there will be a lot more drag. If it is a prototype, hopefully finding teeth to fit the holders won't be a problem.

I believe you will find it made by a guy south Al, Roger Carroll, I think he makes the vertical tree trimmer for skid steers seen on here. The name of his company escapes me so someone here will have to remember. Also Ryan's manf. has one similar. There are about three using the Gyrotrac style frame.

I think it is a Tushogg and the company is located in I believe Lubbock, Texas. You will be happy with it. It is heavy but works great. Go slow and you will be happier!
