Mystery spring on bx25

Hey guys, I've been following this site for a long time, it helped me a lot in the purchase of my new bx25

So now I have my first question, I found a loose, important looking spring under my seat when I flipped it up for the first time. It is gold in color, about 5 inches long and has a rubber bushing around it which slides. I've attached pics of the spring and where I found it. What do you think? I've had no problems with operation... Something from the dealership that was not suppose to be there? Please feel free to make me look like an idiot!

looks like the spring weld broke off. That's exactly its supposed to go. The rubber slid down further on mine. Its supposed to be in that area upright and the spring pushes on the seat flat area on left side . These were taken with cell phone pics.

I don't think anything is broke. It looks like to bolt at the base of the spring either came out or was never installed.

The spring is to keep tension on the seat release lever when the seat is down.

At least that's the way it looks on mine.

ETA: It looks like the bolt is there next to the spring. Take it out, put it through the spring and screw it back in place.

Thanks guys, turns out the spring is broken off right where the bolt tightens down on it in two places. I'll see if the dealer will give me a replacement.
