i was not a fan of this program to begin with and did my part to make that clear.

seems it now may be dead on a national level, although it sounds like a state version is set to follow.. (although many point out there are already various state versions so no big news?)

And good riddance to it! The national program would have been a ridiculous burden on animal owners, and a scary invasion of privacy. At one point it would have even required notifying the government if you wanted to move your livestock from one pasture of your own to another. The bad part is, they nearly got this program put into place with agency reg's before anybody had a chance to react. We don't need more panicky government over-reaction to problems like mad cow and bird flu. We need to be on guard more and more; who knows what they'll try next?

That was a really dumb idea. They should have handed out free RFID chips and 're-purposed' about 6 spy satellites - non-existent problem solved

Why not just put the sorry b's who put spinal column waste into animal feeds in prison?

I agree... for the small animal / acerage owner it would have been a burden.. and for the large farm.. a huge burden..
