There is a local horse stable that calls themselves Emanon stables. See if you can figure how they came up with that.

If I ever turn our 10 acres into a farm, I was thinking of something like 'Broken Back Acres', 'Dirty FingerNails Farm', 'Desperation Acres', or 'Blood, Sweat, and More Blood Farms'. Such cheery names!

Well, we never thought too hard about it, but I saw an old freezer on a back road, and was reminded of Jimmy Buffet's verse "I shot six holes in my freezer...I think I got cabin fever" (from Margaritaville?). And I've always wanted a sign with a shot-up freezer and "Cabin Fever Farm" lettered on it.

Jeez...the stuff I admit on this board.

Emanon stables looks like Noname spelled backwards.

Our place isn't named, but Arachnoid Acres would be appropriate.

My wife came up with "Briar Acres" before we saw this place. From the time we moved in until I got the bush hog, that's exactly what the front yard was. Blackberrys, yuck. Huckleberrys now are a different story.

We bought a 10 acre pheasant farm (complete with 5 acres of pheasant pens and netting that I have 3/4 torn down). We have a total of 8 neighbors, over 3,000 acres of corn/ soybeans that have been put in farmland preservation around us. We went with Sleepy Meadow Farm.

Just read all the posts and would like to add our property name and story.

We will have been married for thirty-seven years this summer and when we were looking for our first house all those years ago, we wanted a piece of property with ravines, streams and falls. It never happened. We lived in three nice homes over the years but none were our dream. In passing one day I told a friend who makes his living selling land in our area of our dream. He would call us to tell us of each new listing and we would run out to see it but no dream was there.

On our thirty-fifth wedding anniversary he call again and we drove the four miles to a twenty three acre parcel. The weeds were over our heads but we walked the 400’ to the woods. As soon as we were in the woods we could hear the water in the ravine straight ahead. In the next 300 feet there were seven waterfalls, one twenty-five feet and the best a thirty-five footer. We had found our dream.

We have built our new home next to the twenty-five foot falls. Our bedroom windows are as close to the falls as we could build and the sound of the water fills the room. From our family room we can see three smaller falls.

It was the best anniversary present we could get. Jade or coral are the gifts for thirty-five year anniversaries so we named our property “Jade”. It has been the best present and a dream come true.

We just bought our land and had to go through a circus (not literally) to get it. I pretty much feel like everything I do involves the circus, or at least just the clowns, so we were thinking of naming our land Big Top Farms. Alternatively, I've been thinking purple donkey farms. When everything you do makes you question if you have a voodoo curse on you, it's only fitting to recognize you've earned the nick name Eeyore. Hopefully by the time we finish working through the drama left to do and finally can build our house, we'll have a better name.

I just went through a 3 year lawsuit of adverse possession and about $15K in attorney fees, and the owners in the end didn't show up for court ending in default judgement. Four owners originally, one past away 10 years ago and no estate opened. One filed a response to the lawsuit, but past away prior to the first hearing, and his next of kin refused to open an estate. One never contested the claims, and the last one filed a response to the lawsuit, but never came to court or filed anything additional on their behalf.

Sierra Springs Ranch. Our 90 acres are in the Sierra Nevada foothills and there are several springs on the property. Most of the springs are from a very small flow to a dribble, but this year with all the rain we expect there will be a greater flow.

Hey, an old post that I started has been resurrected! I guess property names are kind of timeless. Hard to believe we've been here 15 years. A lot has changed. Empty nesters later this year and seriously considering a downsize. May have to take up scale model tractors!

The name of my sumptuous and sprawling 6 acre estate is "Wagtail Park". It's named after my favourite native bird, the Willie Wagtail and after my horse's swishy tails.

In the 4 years since retiring here, I've endeavoured to turn it into a place worthy of the name... which must be working as some of my neighbours are fixing up their properties too. (Ah... the power of a wife, eh?)

Bare Trail Run, because I work on it bare and used to walk the trails bare. More houses with kids moved in, etc. Now clothes on the trails I maintain, but not much.

Yeah, I remember this post... man... just shy of 15 years.

We stuck with MossRoad. Turns out Ginger Hill was taken by an adult films star at the time!

Looking through the thread, I saw some names from the past. Not too many of them in that thread are around still, RobS. You, me, Bird, dmccarty and that's about it. I saw two that have since passed away. Good memories, though. ;)

Eagles Nest ..... We actually don't have a nest of them though. We do have a 7-8 acres pond right out our front door and watch the majestic birds.....BUT....the dang things always go for the biggest fish. in 2014 they really hurt my fishery a bit.

Wow, I didn't realize this thread started 15 years ago. I wonder how many people have changed the names of their properties since this thread was started.
